Reverse Engineering
Sometimes PCB documentation goes missing, or the software that created it has long since become obsolete. We have a lot of experience helping customers recreate documentation for their PCBs and manufacture new ones. Whether you just need a schematic to help repair a stock pile of spare parts, or a redesigned PCB, we can help.
How Reverse Engineering Works:
You provide us with a sample PCB assembly for us to work from. In order to obtain the most accurate results, we strip the board of all parts and catalog them, noting all pertinent information (part values, markings, reference designators, etc.) Then, using the bare PCB, we map out all of the electrical connections. From this, we re-create the schematic and bill-of-materials. If needed, we can also recreate the layout itself, providing you with Gerber files, or even brand-new PCB Assemblies. Sometimes with older designs, some of the components used may no longer be available. We can help with suggesting or identifying suitable replacements, or even redesign portions of the circuit if necessary.
What our PCB reverse engineering service delivers:
- A complete schematic diagram
- Bill of materials listing all components
- Data sheets for all semiconductor parts able to be identified
- Optional: Gerber files for the production of the PCB
- Optional: Complete PCB Assembly
